“Touch” starring Kiefer Sutherland officially premieres on FOX March 19, but you can watch the pilot for free now on the FOX website.
It’s interesting to me that show creators keep trying the theme of human interconnectivity. It never seems to last long, whether the show is canceled like “Six Degrees” or they abandon the storyline like on “Lost.” Tim Kring tried it as well in “Heroes” but never really made it into anything substantial. Kring is back at it again full force with “Touch” and based on the plot alone, it has about as much chance as “Six Degrees” did. It was definitely interesting, but the magic of it seemed to outweigh the practicality for me. Luckily, the show has more going for it than the story. FOX brought back Kiefer Sutherland and his patented running-out-of-time urgency face. He alone probably outperforms everyone in the “Six Degrees” cast put together. The other saving grace with this show is the fact that they can make each episode self-contained. Most likely, that’s what did “Six Degrees” in. They tried to show how these random people were connected but you couldn’t miss an episode of the continuing storyline. Based on the pilot, “Touch” seems to be set up to show connections between different random people each episode with the only constant being Sutherland and his son as the only ones not acting randomly.
I would recommend giving this a try. I really would like to see how the human interconnectivity theme plays out long-term.
Did the owner of MegaUpload really get sentenced to 50 years in prison? That’s seriously messed up. Is it true?
So my wife and I are having a boy…
After having three girls, we thought it would never happen. I even came to terms with all girls because I never liked sports and all my best friends were girls growing up so I figured it was fitting that I raised girls. I was still a little disappointed in not having a cute little boy running around the house.
Then we get the news that it’s a boy (due in June), and at first I was so excited to finally have one after I gave up thinking it was ever going to happen. Then a few days later, I came to the realization that no one is going to teach this kid how to be a boy. He won’t know sports. He won’t ever go hunting or fishing. He will probably inherit my dislike for even getting dirty. My kid is going to be the biggest pansy in this meat-and-potato-fed, farm-bred state. Maybe we shouldn’t have left Seattle. At least there my contributions would have been worth something. How is knowing the difference between The Dear And Departed and Dear And The Headlights going to help him in a town of Nickelback fans? Will anyone truly appreciate the importance he places on November and May sweeps?
Gosh, if this town gets my kid to become a BSU fan, I’m afraid I’ll lose him forever.
I can’t be more excited that so many lesser-known actors have taken to doing web series. Considering the current state of the entertainment industry where movies have no middle ground between hit and flop and TV networks act like children with candy addictions, this is truly the best medium to reach the diverse tastes of viewers around the world.

Hulu’s first original scripted programming, “Battleground,” doesn’t look as bad as it sounds. The cast has potential at least. I was planning on watching anyway to support web-based programming, but I may end up liking it. I wish Netflix’s “Lilyhammer” looked as promising.
Joel McHale singing about vegetable rights on “Almost Live!” in 1996. Did you know that Joel earned a degree in history from the University of Washington before landing this gig on a Seattle cable-access show? I love the fact that I watched this show back when it was still on the air. It’s like I saw a piece of history.
Does anyone know where this is from? For some reason, I really want to watch this show/movie.
